The bed was large and comfortable. Unique touches around the room hinted at some interesting character, blending old charm with a contemporary vibe that gave it a bit of personality.
The room was hot, requiring the window to be wide open all night for relief. The bathroom door needed to be closed during a shower due to fire alarm concerns. Broken blinds let in an onslaught of morning light, and a previously mentioned sharp wooden piece nearly cost me a finger. The lack of a portable fan in the stuffy room was a big miss, alongside the non-functional bedside lights. Cleanliness could use some work-grim kettle residue and questionable breakfast options didn't make for the best start to the day.

I could have sworn i was in a horror movie with the broken blinds and a huge gash on my finger from the wood. How can a place charge over £100 a night with these glaring issues? I expected a complimentary perk for my troubles. Just couldn't muster up a good review with such disarray everywhere.

The hotel was located so close to the Tavern, an exceptional restaurant, and a pub. The location was marvellous, and we could reach All Saints Clifton Episcopal Church by walking. It also was easy to walk into the centre. Enjoyed staying at the apartment with enough storage. The staff was all outstandingly accommodating and exceptional.

Is it a hit or a miss? Here's my take
Really good location for exploring the city with a comically large and comfy bed. The quirky atmosphere of having a theatre in a pub enhances the experience.
The access stairs feel a bit 'back of house' and may dampen those looking for elegance. There's a somewhat strange deposit policy that initially raised eyebrows.

Highly Recommend for Solo Travelers
I stayed for 3 nights, room 4 was spacious enough, clean and everything worked well. The staff were quite friendly, recommended a pint at the pub, which turned out to be a great decision, trust me!
It wasn't a budget deal, but for what I got, I'd say it was reasonable.

Room 4 had a comfy bed and everything worked, but those access stairs feel a bit dodgy and the shower was only cold. Not sweet as!

The large and comfortable bed was a standout feature, while the quirky theater experience added a unique charm to my stay. Access stairs felt unconventional but did not hinder my 24-hour entry.

Stayed for 3 nights in room 4, it was clean and everything worked as it should. Comfy bed with plenty of space to move around. Access stairs were a bit odd but the 24 hr entry made it easy to come and go. Staff were super friendly, and the pub vibe was cool. No breakfast but tea and coffee were available.
had a £150 deposit that was a bit weird but it got refunded quick, and the access stairs felt kinda back of house.

Stayed for 2 nights and it was my third time visiting bristol. The location is perfect for exploring, and the large bed was fantastic. The quirky theatre in the pub added a unique touch to my stay at alma taverns boutique suites, room 4, hopewell.
broken blinds let in too much light.
